This year’s Live Oak Music Festival artist, Janelle Younger, has created an original, hand-colored woodburning, combining an image of a banjo with the type of ornamentation found on vintage concert posters. She has chosen to feature a banjo since it’s a cross-cultural instrument used in many genres of music, representing the wide variety of music styles presented at the Live Oak Music Festival. Janelle is also the host of the Broken Spoke Folk Show on KCBX Public Radio every Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m., where she features music that—like her art—is “handcrafted and homespun."
This beautiful work will be raffled off at the festival. Buy you raffle tickets in the Merchantile during the festival, or add to your order when you buy your festival tickets, to have a chance to hang a piece of Live Oak history on your own wall.
