Mark Wilder Juggling Workshop
Something Ridiculous is the high-energy juggling and acrobatic act performed by slapstick stuntmen Mark Wilder and VonJon. Juggling everything from machetes to flaming torches, the comic duo climbs up free-standing ladders, onto seven-foot-tall unicycles or atop shoulders in a wildly entertaining, dynamic show.
In addition to performing, Mark and VonJon love to share their passion for the circus arts and will teach anyone willing to give it a try. They believe that juggling and other circus arts offer powerful creative and physical outlets for kids of all ages. Something Ridiculous has worked to share this passion at school assemblies, after-school programs, summer camps, youth arts programs, museums, libraries, and more.
Mark and VonJon are excited to bring their energetic and ridiculous show back to Live Oak and to play with oakies and acorns of all ages...
Teen Camp
Live Oak Family Band Scramble
This is your time to shine in a Live Oak Family Band! All you need to do is show up with your instruments in hand and a song in mind, and our staff of professional band-scramblers will do the rest. There are no rules about the type of instrument. We welcome entire families, parent-child groups, siblings, solo kids - everyone is welcome as long as you are a kid or show up with one! Participants will be assigned to a Family Band if you do not already have one, and bands will have 45 minutes to come up with a band name, and to prepare one to two songs together. At the end, all bands will get their turn to perform on the Hot Licks Stage! The Live Oak Family Band Scramble will be hosted by Erin Inglish. Space is limited, so we highly encourage everyone to show up a few minutes early. Come and join us as we kick off the festival Family-Band style!
Little Acorns Toddler Oasis and Family Stage
Last year we added the toddler oasis to the children's camp. This is is our fenced in 30x30 oasis for Live oak's youngest guest, which is open on Friday from 2pm-6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 6pm. This year we bring more music and story telling to the Oasis Stage! Throughout the day families will be entertained by story teller Zette Harbour, and musicians John Beccia, Emy Bruzzo, The Murrays and John Roullard.
Musician John Roullard
John Roullard will be singing some of his favorite songs that are part of the American experience. John was first introduced to traditional folk music at the age of ten as part of a 1960’s community “hootenanny.” Being an elementary school teacher has given him the opportunity over the years to share with his students many of the folksongs and their history. Children and well-behaved adults are invited to join in the singing at the Live Oak Children’s Camp, which will occur on the Oasis Stage at various times throughout the festival.
Story Teller Zette Harbour
Harbours have always been places where stories from every corner of the world could be heard - wild tales of magical creatures, exotic tales of far away places, and captivating tales of wisdom and foolishness. Expertly performed by award-winning storyteller, Zette Harbour, tales from around the world delight and amaze with their humor and surprise endings. Catch Zette's story telling on the Oasis Stage at various times throughout the festival.
Musicians John Beccia & Emy Bruzzo
John Beccia has been writing & performing music for more than 40 years. Playing guitar & banjo, John chooses songs that emphasize fun and movement as well as material from the folk tradition. He will be performing his own songs as well as tunes from Pete Seeger, Burl Ives, Raffi, John McCutcheon and others. John's infectious good humor is guaranteed to get you singing, dancing, and laughing. Emy Bruzzo is choral music director and performing arts teacher at Atascadero High School and her infectious energy and talent will get your whole family dancing and singing!
Musicians The Murrays
The Murrays found each other in a long-running production of “Always…Patsy Cline” back in Chicago. Alice had been performing with the Western Swing band Luke and the Cool Hands, and fell easily into the role of Patsy. Mike had been appearing in several musicals which utilized his guitar skills, including “Pump Boys and Dinettes”. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Mike continued his work in theatre with roles in the national tour of “Mamma Mia”, “Johnny Guitar”, and “I Love My Wife”, to name a few. He performs live throughout the LA area as half of the music comedy duo, Schoolcraft and Murray, and can be seen in roles on television and film, including the soon to be released “Frontera”, starring Ed Harris and Amy Madigan. Alice has maintained a busy performance career in several musical genres. She is an ensemble member and soloist with the LA Master Chorale, Carmel Bach Festival, the GRAMMY Award winning Los Angeles Chamber Singers & Cappella, and can be heard on several sound recordings and film scores, most recently “After Earth” and “Despicable Me 2”. Alice directs a children’s choir in Pasadena and is a teaching artist for the educational outreach program Voices Within. The Murrays are delighted to have another opportunity to perform together, especially here at Live Oak.

Yoga with Dan Hall
My interest in Yoga was first piqued while working in the healthcare field in the 80’s.Participating in physical therapy, due to an injury, I found that many of the exercises
paralleled Yoga asanas (postures). My foundation is in the Iyengar system of Yoga, learning proper alignment. I am certified at the 500 hour level. Going hand-in-hand
with my study of Yoga, I was introduced to Buddhism in the early 90’s. I had the good fortune to participate in Buddhist study in China in 2007. In addition to the physical
application of Yoga, Seva is an important part of my practice. Seva involves living compassionately, in such a way that uplifts and assists others on both a local and
global scale. In 2008, I traveled to Nicaragua to assist indigenous people in the construction of their homes through Habitat for Humanity, and was able to share Yoga
while in that setting. Join me at Stage Too, Saturday and Sunday morning and we’ll get the kinks out and the prana flowing.
Blessings,
Dan
