Murphy Wylde

  • Live Oak Music Festival 4100 Vachell Lane San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401 United States (map)

Liam Galleher Murphy and Ross Wylde met on Tinder last year, so this might be moving too fast. Liam likes to write songs about forests and sunsets while Ross likes to write about breakups and inner turmoil. For some reason it makes sense. Based out of Plumas National Forest, their music answers the question: what would happen if two gay people wrote all of their songs next to a lake? The result is innocent, optimistic, and sincere songs inspired by the natural world (consider it Ecology-Americana).

Liam attended his first Live Oak when he was 9 months old - this will be his 23rd festival celebrating peace, love, dirt, and his wonderful Live Oak family. Making music together has been a fulfilling way for Ross and Liam to introduce each other to the people and festivals that mean the most to them, proving that a music festival can be both an important musical and romantic milestone. Liam has since graduated from the Live Oak talent show, where you might remember him Irish Step-Dancing at age 3, or singing alongside his sister as she hula-hooped at age 12. Liam credits his passion for music, and his career in forestry to learning from the Live Oak Way.

Murphy Wylde’s music is currently exclusive to live shows around California, and can’t yet be found on streaming platforms. However, you can stream Ross’ two solo albums on all services under Ross Wylde, where he’s gained over one-million streams since the release of his first album. He is also involved with a film project called “116 MacDougal”, in which he plays a young Bob Dylan in Greenwich Village.

Liam and Ross are excited to share stories, but even more so to dance with you all weekend. Peace, love, & dirt!
