Azere Wilson is a Bluesy Roots, Americana musician from the hills of central California. Her artistry explores America's past through the lens of her life experiences, forging old-time blues, americana, and folk with a modern twist. Influenced by the likes of Nina Simone, Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey and traditional Black music and bluegrass, her music dances between pain, joy, and release. Azere breathes new life into old music from the early 1900s and melds her originals with a jazzy, folk blues vibe.
Azere’s first single release titled In My Time honors her African American roots with her take on a traditional tune first recorded by Blind Willie Johnson in 1927. Her full album of original tunes is set to release this Spring.
