Brazilian Samba, Salsa and Funk

Website: www.sambada.com

With a potent mix of beat-intensive Afro-Brazilian-samba-funk-reggae dance music, SambaDá inspires crowds to move to the groove.

Brazilian natives Papiba Godinho and Dandha da Hora have brought together musicians from diverse backgrounds to create a sound with universal appeal, musically uniting the Americas. Guitarist Papiba is a master of Capoeira, a Brazilian form of acrobatic movement, while expert dancer Dandha has been dancing since the age of 6 as a member of the Ile Aiya music group.

Considered the West Coast’s hottest Brazilian band, Santa Cruz-based SambaDá is known for their highly danceable, visually dynamic shows. This high-energy band also features Anne Stafford on saxophone; percussionists Marcel Menard, Gary Kehoe, and Will Kahn; and bassist Kevin Dorn.
